Meet Ashley Baxter

An experienced photographer is typically at the top of every bride’s wedding planning list. With over a decade of experience, Ashley Baxter holds a bachelor's degree in photojournalism from Cal State Fullerton. Ashley’s passion for photography was ignited during an elective class in college, where she thrived in Photoshop and specialized in studio lighting. Her talent earned her numerous awards, and she graduated as the top student in her class, cementing her decision to pursue this creative path.

Her career has taken her on remarkable journeys, from coordinating wildlife photography in Africa to creating content for a prominent language school in Latin America. Today, she calls Broken Bow home and has dedicated the past five years to capturing the beauty of weddings in the scenic landscapes of Oklahoma.

Planning for Perfect Photos

Preparing for a wedding requires careful planning, especially when it comes to photography. Choosing your photographer and collaborating in advance to discuss optimal lighting can significantly enhance your photos. Building a rapport with the photographer is key to capturing unique moments that reflect the personalities of the bride and groom. In your detailed plans, be sure to inform family and friends who will be in the photos, and kindly ask guests to put away their phones during the ceremony to immerse themselves fully in the moment. Ashley recommends scheduling ceremonies around sunset whenever possible, as mid-afternoon lighting can create harsh shadows. For summer weddings, consider providing hand fans and ensuring a cool area for guests. According to Ashley, spring and fall are typically the best seasons for weddings.

Capturing All the Special Moments

For Ashley, capturing the essence of the story is what truly matters in photography. The cake-cutting and the first dances are crucial photographs needed for a treasured wedding gallery. She even helps recreate some of these moments in elopement packages. Candid shots of guests enjoying themselves on the dance floor are also vital. Pre-wedding photos, particularly the first touch or first look with both the father and groom, along with moments shared with close loved ones, are essential. Ashley loves to drape the bride’s veil over both the bride and groom, capturing the deep connection between the couple. She prefers genuine moments over overly posed shots. Ashley cherishes capturing the bride's reflection as she gazes out the window, contemplating her future; this is often how she likes to open her galleries. These moments are essential for creating a comprehensive wedding gallery.

Wedding Photography Services

Ashley offers a range of elopement and full wedding packages, including videography, with prices ranging from $900 to $3500. Her wedding photo turnaround time ranges from three to six weeks, depending on the season. She always provides a sneak peek of about 20 to 30 photos just two days after the ceremony. While she utilizes AI for some striking images suitable for wall displays, she prioritizes natural editing. Collaborating with brides throughout the editing process, she presents them with three or four distinct styles so they can choose their favorite for the final edits.
